iFLY EXPERIENCE IN DECEMBER 2021

On 2nd December 2021, United Disability Care sponsored 40 people with a disability to experience an iFLY indoor skydiving flight on the Gold Coast. The event was held in celebration of the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)

Close to 50 people enjoyed flying in the wind tunnel simulating an amazing skydiving experience without catching a plane. People of any abilities were able to have a go and make some great memories. We had a full house with people from all walks of life enjoying flying and meeting new people. The morning included:

  • Pre-flight training & certificate.
  • A photo & video of the flight.
  • An amazing experience, which simulates skydiving without the need for an airplane.
  • Morning tea, where participants could socialise with the other flyers
Disability Expo Adelaide

ADELAIDE TEAM AT THE DISABILITY & AGED CARE LIFESTYLE EXPO OCT 2021

Our team of Simon, Alex and Kylie represented United Disability at the Expo to a huge crowd in Adelaide Showgrounds. The Team gave away a lot of free United Disability branded gifts. We had wristbands, beachballs, lollipops and balloons.

One major highlight of the event was the attendance of the Governor of Adelaide and other MP’s at the sponsorship breakfast. Simon presented on stage for 10 minutes. Rachel Leahcar, singer on The Voice TV show, also presented. She was the ambassador for MyLifeChoices. Rachel and her guide dog Jarvis posed for photos with our team.

Our team thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to the next one.

THE iFLY EXPERIENCE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY—CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE

20th November 2019. United Disability sponsored the iFLY flight experience. In the lead up to International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), we celebrated the independence achieved by people living with a disability. It was a very successful event with over 45 flyers, most who had never done anything so adventurous before. There were a few small children who were very brave, and our eldest flyer was in his 70’s. It truly was an all-inclusive activity.

Coffs

SURF, SAND AND SNAGS IN COFFS HARBOUR

On 3rd December 2019, we celebrated the International Day of People with Disability by having a social event, encouraging friendships with music, dancing, fun games, and all abilities surfing in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

We arranged for Solitary Islands Surf School to give surf lessons to those who would like to give it a try. We had some on their knees and some on their feet. Great effort by all. The expert surf coaches helped the beginners learn to surf.

Zumba with Pauline came down and everyone had a dance. Our team cooked the BBQ for the clients and their families and friends. We had over 50 people for lunch, and we would like to thank everyone who participated for their amazing support.

Dance party

DANCE PARTY

On 3rd December 2019, we celebrated International Day of People with Disability by having a fun social event with music by DJ Tympanic in Robina, QLD.

Our Disco Dance Party was great fun. We had around 50 people join us for a dance and some delicious afternoon tea. Everyone got on the dance floor to show us their moves – even the shy ones. We had glow sticks, balloons, as well as single use tattoos. It was all great fun. We enjoyed hosting it so much that we will do another one soon.

OPEN DAY AT ROBINA HEAD OFFICE

In July 2019, United Disability Care hosted an open day to showcase the new location of its head office to the people we support – as well as their families and the broader community.

It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet, come together and enjoy a visit. We had a lovely morning tea, a few speeches and then a tour of the offices. Guests joining us came from Northern New South Wales to the Northern Gold Coast.

Watch the videos to see how the day went.
