At United Disability, we provide support to people with both high and complex needs – both out in the community and in supported independent living (SIL) accommodation. We can help with bridging the gap between moving out of hospital and into an SIL environment or SIL accommodation. Our team is able to create an accommodation environment (SIL) for people in the community, and we will tailor our services to meet the unique transitional needs of the people in our care. We offer disability mental health services in Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast, the Tweed Coast, Byron Shire, Coffs Harbour, Maitland, Gawler and surrounding region.
Like physical health, mental health affects everyone differently. Each person is impacted at different levels. Mental health provides challenges which can lead to difficulties in coping with everyday life. We are passionate about supporting a person’s emotional, psychological and social well-being. Our staff are able to help with complex needs, either in the community or in supported independent living (SIL). We offer personalised care and also facilitate engaging day programs.
We are able to create an accommodation environment with Supported Independent Living (SIL) for people in the community that need assistance with transitions from as little as 1 week, 3 months or longer. The support we provide is based on each individual’s needs. This can also apply to those who have been in a hospital environment and who would like to go back to residential housing but still need the daily one-on-one support and/or active night support.
The houses are shared accommodation, so all residents must be able to live with other people. Either 2- or 3-bedroom houses are sought to ensure affordability for residents. Each resident will still have their one-on-one support worker but live in the house with others.
